A forecast describes expected weather and swell. Seahound adds the state of each beach—its exposure, bathymetry, alignment, tide, wind, hazards, and recent coastal change—to help you make a break-level decision.
Does a high rank or GO mean a beach is safe?
No. Surf quality and hazard are independent. Always observe from shore and follow lifeguard, beach closure, NWS, and emergency guidance.
Where does Seahound data come from?
Seahound combines NOAA and NWS observations and forecasts with nearshore transformation, tide data, beach characteristics, and model scoring. Source age and provenance remain visible in the app.
